Flag State Equivalent Inspection

An independent inspection benchmarked against flag State inspection criteria. It is not a statutory inspection, it is not carried out under delegated authority, and it does not result in statutory certification.

It reviews 100% of the documents and images you upload, not 100% of the vessel, and it informs your decisions and your flag administration's decisions rather than carrying them.

INDEPENDENT, NON-STATUTORY, BENCHMARKED TO FLAG CRITERIA

What It Is

Owners and managers want to know where a vessel really stands before someone with statutory power tells them. This service answers that question, and it is careful about the authority it claims. SolarisTech is not the flag State. It does not act under delegated statutory authority for this service, it does not issue, endorse or withdraw statutory certificates, and nothing in the output has statutory effect. What it does is apply the same criteria a flag State inspection applies, independently, and tell you what it finds.

The review covers 100% of the documents, records and images you upload, not 100% of the vessel. Findings are recorded in Nautilux with a clear corrective action and tracked to closure, so you hold an objective, dated and defensible view of the vessel's condition and readiness. You decide who sees it. If you choose to share it with your flag administration, it is one more piece of evidence in front of them. The decision remains theirs. Our reports are prepared for the party that instructs us and for the purpose stated in the engagement. Reliance by any other party requires our written agreement.

Inspection engagements are led by Thomas Blenk, our founder, formerly Corporate Vice President, Global Marine Sectors at the American Bureau of Shipping and Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs for the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The reviewer who prepared the report is named on it. Delivered through the Nautilux shore-side dashboard.

Full review, not a sample

Conventional attendance-based inspection works by sampling. A limited number of items is selected, those items are examined, and a view is formed from them. Whatever was not sampled is not seen. Nautilux reviews every document and every image you upload, in full, with nothing set aside as a sample. The limit is part of the claim. Coverage is 100% of what you upload, not 100% of the vessel. Nautilux does not go on board and does not replace physical attendance, class survey or flag inspection.

It tells you what your own record shows, completely, which is more than a sample can do and less than a statutory inspection is.
