INDUSTRIES WE SERVE

Banks & Lessors

A ship finance decision rests on two things: the condition of the asset and the quality of the record behind it. SolarisTech provides independent technical due diligence before drawdown, condition monitoring across a facility, and technical review when a credit turns.

Reports are written in language a credit officer can put in the file, with the full technical file behind them, and the reviewer who signed the report takes the call if the borrower disputes it. SolarisTech takes no position in the asset and earns nothing from the transaction closing.

How We Help

Independent technical evidence for lending, leasing, monitoring and recovery decisions. Engagements are led by our founder, and every report names the reviewer who wrote it. Findings are recorded and tracked to closure.

What We Do

  • Pre-financing technical due diligence and condition survey of the collateral, reported against a stated scope, with deferred maintenance, outstanding class conditions and near-term capital items identified and costed as estimates.
  • Advance document review through Nautilux before anyone travels. Every document and image in the submission is reviewed, not a sample. The scope is the submission, not the whole vessel. Upload typically takes one to two hours through the secure portal, and for a complete submission received early in the working day we aim to return the reviewed result the same working day.
  • Condition monitoring on an agreed schedule for the vessels in the facility we are instructed to cover, with a written exception report between attendances, optionally supported by the Nautilux shore side dashboard where the borrower or the manager has adopted it.
  • Flag, registry and class assessment to support approved flag and approved class list decisions, reported as findings and supporting evidence for your own credit policy.
  • Technical review in distressed, arrest and workout situations: condition on the day, what has been deferred, and an estimate of the cost and the time to bring the vessel back to a tradeable state.
  • Pre-delivery inspection of financed newbuildings, and attendance at delivery and handover milestones against the specification and the contract.
  • Sanctions and security screening across ownership, control and management chain, flag and registry history and trading pattern, delivered as a technical and open source exercise to support your own compliance decision.
  • Plain language technical summaries written for a credit committee, with the technical file, the photographs and the evidence trail attached.

Our opinion is technical. Valuation, title, legal sanctions clearance and the credit decision remain with you and your advisers. Our inspection and survey work is non-statutory: it informs decisions taken by owners, administrations, classification societies, insurers and lenders, and it does not replace statutory survey or certification. Where portfolio monitoring uses Nautilux, the shore side dashboard is the platform's only off the shelf deployment today. Our reports are prepared for the party that instructs us and for the purpose stated in the engagement. Reliance by any other party requires our written agreement.

INDEPENDENCE

Where We Stand

SolarisTech takes no position in the asset, earns nothing from the transaction closing, and does not broker sales or charters. No fee we earn varies with what we find or with whether the facility draws down. SolarisTech maintains working relationships with classification societies and represents flag administrations internationally. Where either relationship could bear on an engagement, we disclose it in writing at scoping and, if you would rather we did not act, we decline the work. We do not provide an independent assurance opinion on class or flag work that our own introduction created. You should know who your reviewer is paid by before you rely on the report. Ask for our current relationship and flag representation disclosures and we will send them.

Financing, Leasing or Working Out a Vessel?

Tell us the facility, the vessels and the drawdown or review date. We will confirm scope, the reviewer's name and what sits outside our opinion before we start.
