Marine Assurance & Vessel Suitability

Independent assurance that a vessel is fit for the project, the charter and the risk. Suitability surveys, marine assurance reviews and vessel screening for owners, charterers, project teams and their insurers. Engagements are led by our founder, and every report names the reviewer who wrote it. The deliverable is a written finding you can hold a counterparty to.

  • Dynamic positioning documentation. Confirmation that the required DP documentation set is present, current and consistent with the project's stated acceptance criteria. Technical assessment of DP system redundancy is referred to a DP specialist.
  • Counterparty, ownership, flag and registry screening on vessels and operators, delivered as a technical and open source exercise to inform your own compliance decision
  • Vessel and operator screening with a clear written finding: accept, accept with conditions, or reject
  • Repeatable screening frameworks for fleets and recurring vessel intake

Our dynamic positioning work is document level review. SolarisTech does not author FMEAs, does not conduct DP annual trials, and is not an IMCA member. Where your project needs a DP trials practitioner or an FMEA author, we say so and help you appoint one. Screening is a technical and open source exercise: we do not provide legal sanctions advice and we do not issue clearance, and the determination rests with your compliance function or your counsel. Suitability findings are advisory: the decision to fix or reject the vessel remains yours.

Our reports are prepared for the party that instructs us and for the purpose stated in the engagement. Reliance by any other party requires our written agreement.
